Hot Shot’s Secret Expands Engine-Oil Filtration With a Fine-Particle Bypass System
The new Pure Diamond package adds depth-media filtration, vehicle-specific hardware, serviceable elements, and an oil-management program for diesel and custom applications.
A New Bypass System Joins the Lineup
Hot Shot’s Secret has launched the Pure Diamond Bypass Filtration System, a supplemental oil-cleaning product intended for engine maintenance across a wide range of applications. The package is designed to keep lubricant cleaner for longer and support engine longevity alongside the factory filtration system. Its role is additive rather than replacement-based: Pure Diamond works as a separate filtration circuit while the original full-flow filter remains in service.
Depth Media Targets Fine Debris
The filtration package uses densely packed depth media to capture contaminants that can remain in circulation after conventional full-flow filtering. Hot Shot’s Secret rates the design for particles as small as 2 microns and says it removes up to 96 percent of wear-causing particles in the critical 2-to-5-micron range. Those particles include wear metals, carbon soot, and dirt, all of which can contribute to abrasive engine wear.
A Controlled Portion of Oil Is Diverted
Unlike a traditional full-flow filter, the bypass arrangement processes only a small portion of the engine’s oil at a controlled rate. That slower path gives the media more opportunity to capture fine contamination before the cleaned oil returns to the engine. Normal lubrication continues through the factory oiling system, while the supplemental circuit concentrates on filtration efficiency rather than maximizing total oil flow.
The Design Updates a Familiar Concept
Hot Shot’s Secret Brand Manager Josh Steinmetz described Pure Diamond as an updated version of the Frantz Filter bypass design, a concept used for decades. The newer package adds stainless steel braided hoses, an optional sampling valve, and application-specific installation hardware. The changes place a long-established filtration approach in a format intended for modern vehicle platforms and more straightforward oil monitoring.
Factory Filtration Remains Independent
The bypass unit operates independently from the vehicle’s factory oil filter, allowing both filtration paths to function without replacing the original component’s role. Oil is diverted through the supplemental filter and returned to the engine after passing through the fine media. Hot Shot’s Secret says the carefully controlled flow is designed to avoid affecting normal oil pressure or lubrication, preserving the factory system’s operating function.
A Broader Oil-Management Approach
The Pure Diamond system is presented as one component of a broader oil-management approach. Routine oil analysis can help track lubricant condition, while cleaner oil may support consistent performance and longer service intervals.
Vehicle-Specific and Universal Hardware Are Offered
The product is sold in application-specific kits for numerous engine platforms, including popular diesel pickups, while universal mounting options cover custom installations. That split gives owners a platform-matched package where available and installers a more flexible route for nonstandard projects. Replacement filter elements are designed for inexpensive, straightforward servicing, an ownership detail that matters when the unit is retained over repeated maintenance intervals.
Installation Resources
Installation videos, technical resources, and product information support do-it-yourself owners and professional installers. The system is offered in application-specific kits and with universal mounting options for custom installations.
