A Family SUV With Supercar Urgency

The Lucid Gravity GT-S gives the three-row electric SUV a startling performance brief: 1,070 horsepower and a claimed 0-to-60-mph time of 3.1 seconds. That output places it at the top of the Gravity range and, according to Lucid, makes it the most powerful three-row SUV on sale in America.

Orders are open in the United States, with pricing beginning at $125,900 before options, taxes, and fees. Destination and delivery add $1,850, producing a starting total of $129,050 including destination and before tax, title, license, and documentation charges.

The positioning is unusual. The GT-S is not a stripped performance special that sacrifices passenger space for speed. It retains the Gravity’s three-row configuration and targets buyers who want rapid electric performance without abandoning the requirements of a family vehicle. That combination makes the unresolved ownership questions especially important: real-world range, option costs, build quality, and Lucid’s support after the sale will shape the experience beyond the headline power figure.

The Chassis Gets Hardware, Not Just a Power Upgrade

The performance package changes more than the accelerator response. Lucid equips the Gravity GT-S with its Dynamic Handling Package as standard, adding independent rear-wheel steering and an adaptive three-chamber air suspension.

Rear-wheel steering can alter the vehicle’s low-speed maneuverability and high-speed behavior, while the air suspension gives the chassis a wider operating range than fixed springs. Lucid says the system can lower the SUV at speed, with the changes intended to improve stability, ride comfort, and efficiency.

That hardware matters in a large vehicle carrying several occupants. A suspension system that can adjust its height and behavior has to serve contrasting jobs: provide composure during hard acceleration, preserve comfort on ordinary roads, and accommodate the mass and movement associated with a three-row cabin. The GT-S therefore presents its performance identity through chassis control as well as motor output.

The dual-motor electric powertrain remains the central mechanical foundation. Lucid has not reduced the SUV to a single-purpose track exercise; instead, the package connects its flagship performance ambitions to the everyday demands of a full-size passenger vehicle.

Seven Seats Remain Part of the Brief

The most consequential practical detail is what the GT-S keeps. The cabin seats up to seven adults, and the vehicle retains the Gravity’s large cargo area rather than converting the rear space into a performance-only compromise.

That layout gives the model a distinct role within Lucid’s portfolio. The Air Sapphire established the company’s high-performance image in sedan form, but the GT-S carries that approach into a vehicle designed around passengers, luggage, and multiple seating rows. Its appeal depends on both sides of that equation working together.

The electronics and software are derived from the Air sedan, creating a common technology interface across Lucid’s lineup. For owners moving between the two models, that shared foundation is intended to make the controls and digital systems feel familiar rather than entirely new.

The practical test will be whether the promised versatility survives daily use alongside the performance hardware. Seating capacity, cargo space, and software lineage are established, but no real-world range figure is provided. That missing measure will matter to families deciding how comfortably the GT-S fits long-distance travel alongside its rapid acceleration.

Blue Details Mark the Flagship

The exterior identifies the GT-S with blue accents and painted blue brake calipers. Inside, the Mojave PurLuxe Premium package carries the same theme through blue stitching and piping on the first and second rows, blue seatbelts, and blue stitching on the steering wheel, door armrests, and front center armrest.

A blue steering-wheel marker and embossed Lucid Bear logos on the front headrests complete the cabin treatment. These details distinguish the flagship without changing the basic Gravity layout, preserving the connection between the high-performance model and the broader family.

Derek Jenkins, Lucid’s chief creative officer, described the GT-S as a more expressive and exhilarating interpretation of the SUV while retaining its comfort, space, and versatility. That statement matches the vehicle’s formula: visual cues and chassis equipment signal performance, but the three-row interior remains central.

The global public debut is scheduled for Monterey Car Week, where the SUV will appear in the Concours Village at Pebble Beach alongside the Lucid Air Sapphire. Full standard and optional equipment is available through Lucid’s online configurator; a Tahoe leather interior option is listed at $1,300.
